Hello everyone! Hope you have enjoyed out content this week.

Today’s movie is Xtro (1982) written and directed by Harry Bromley Davenport. A horror/science fiction schlock film.

It follows a young boy, Tommy, who's father, Sam, was abducted by aliens but returns three years later. Sam isn't the same and starts to have a disturbing negative affect on Tommy.

Xtro is one of my favourites of Schlock cinema, mainly because it doesn't try to pretend it is a big budget blockbuster. The film knows it is a B-Grade movie and capitalises on its standing.

The film's low budget is obvious with poor acting and below average special effects, except for the alien which looked surprisingly good. However, rather than making the film unwatchable, these flaws add to the character of the movie and make it quite enjoyable to watch.

So despite its Schlocky standing, Xtro is a fairly decent movie with endearing flaws. Definitely give it a watch.

Thanks for reading,
Cameron.
